Enneagram 4, Libra, ENFP, all the things that in short mean I'm a curious adventurer with an extremely creative brain. Let's be friends!
The first time I told my mom I couldn’t wait to move out, I was 7 years old. Something about the idea of a space belonging to me, and the freedom that came along with it, became a thing I craved ever since.
Then the pandemic was the first real time I had to move back home since moving out for college. Reluctantly, I packed up and went home like everyone else. Knowing I had a year left of school, I was confident THIS would be the last time I ever didn’t have my own place.
The plan was to find a job in a city post-grad and, coincidingly, a one-bedroom studio apartment. Man did life absolutely slap me in the face. The reality always has been that moving into your own place after college really is a big deal.
Whether you’re moving into your first college apartment, or you’re in your mid-twenties and finally found an apartment that won’t cost you your firstborn child, moving into an apartment is fun! And for someone like me, a list-making, planning & organizing junkie, this is my dream come true. It’s finally that time for your interior design skills to shine.
I’ve done a good amount of the work for you, so I’ve got you bestie. Below you’re going to find hours of me browsing through websites and putting together the Ultimate First Apartment Checklist. Everything on this list is practical, budgetable (I totally just made up that word), and will add some flare to your new home!
Let’s begin another chapter of your life together!
Specifically, gold silverware, because c’mon. The gold is GORGEOUS.
I only use non-toxic cleaning products. I never want to be spraying things in my home, where I’m constantly breathing in these products 24/7. With that said, for the last 10 years of my life I have only used Shaklee’s cleaning kit.
I couldn’t recommend their Get Clean Starter Kit enough. It includes everything you need to keep your home cleaning products clean. Considering I’ve only used these products in my home for the last 10 years and drastically noticed a difference in my overall health, I can put my full confidence in these products.
For example, Tide laundry detergent worsens my eczema, and bleach products give me migraines. I have to be careful with the products I use because of my sensitivities, but sensitive or not you want to make sure you trust the home cleaning products you’re choosing.
